This certainly is one of the best designed and maintained hotel/casinos in the area. The resort and casino is also celebrating - 2011 is its 10th anniversary on the Pala Reservation in San Diego County. More Show lessĪ birthday celebration at Pala was, once again, an enjoyable experience. They were a short wait and were delicious.
Here's a tip: there is an outside bar in the food court called Amigo's that also make Carne Asada and Carnitas street tacos. The food court had very long lines, so be sure to plan ahead. Also, the casino was packed this night because of the show. They also have one restroom in the Pala Cafe but there is only one stall. There is a restroom located near the entertainment center. I was the shooter for about 10 mins and won each time. I think the odds are better here than in Vegas. They do not play here like they do in Vegas. Be sure to ask the craps box man for instructions. California law does not allow casinos to use the dice.
The casino has every slot machine imaginable, as well as cards, roulette, and craps tables. On a positive note, the sound was very good and it is a small and intimate setting, which is very appealing. The folding chairs they use are also very uncomfortable. The floor is not elevated and you will be staring at the back of many heads in front of you. We attended a live show featuring Don Rickles and Frank Sinatra Jr.
